O que é a Internet ?

A Internet, consiste, na sua essência, numa rede de computadores ligados entre si através de linhas telefónicas comuns, linhas de comunicação privadas, satélites e outros serviços de telecomunicações.

Os computadores comunicam entre si, permitindo integrar várias redes locais de empresas, museus, hospitais, escolas, instituições governamentais e outras entidades, numa enorme rede de comunicações.

É esta gigantesca rede que nos permite comunicar electronicamente e aceder a uma quantidade enorme de informações e serviços, tornando-se hoje uma ferramenta essencial a todos nós.
